MARINE COATING

Reduce Drag, Increases Fuel Economy, Prevents Barnacle & Algae Growth. Seals and Protects for Years. Do NOT use on Wooden Hulls. Requires Catalyst Part B

SKU: NGT-2 Category:

SOLUTION:
Metal & concrete surfaces under full immersion. Protection from marine growth, rust, oxidation, corrosion, water intrusion, & galvanic corrosion.

SURFACES:
All types of metal hulls. All underwater running gear such as propellers, shafts, struts, strainers, and stabilizers. Marine infrastructure, dams, pipelines, holding ponds, and offshore rigs. Not for use on wooden or composite hulls.

COVERAGE:
300 – 500 sq.ft./gal. Coverage will vary due to porosity & texture of the surface.

STORAGE & SHELF LIFE:
Avoid excessive temperatures. Use within 2 years of date on container.

CAUTION:
Always wear OSHA approved respiratory protection. Fresh air ventilation should be provided in the work area. If inhaled, move to fresh air and call a physician immediately if physical difficulties occur. Wear vinyl-rubber gloves and other skin protection to avoid contact. In the event of skin contact wash skin thoroughly with soap and water.
Chemical safety goggles or splash shields must be worn. Do not wear contacts without eye protection. Immediately flush eyes with water for 15 minutes after contact and obtain medical attention. If accidentally swallowed rinse mouth thoroughly and obtain immediate medical attention. Ensure excessive ventilation when working in an enclosed area.

WARNING FLAMMABLE LIQUID:
Product contains TBA and Acetone which are flammable.

SURFACE PREPARATION:
Surface must be clean, dry and in sound condition. Remove all oil, dust, grease, dirt, loose rust and other marine growth including the removal of all peeling paint. If paint is in sound condition you can apply over the existing painted or coated surfaces.
• Wear automotive paint and chemical respirator (P99/P100 filter).
• Protect eyeglasses as coating will adhere and is non-removable.
• Air and surface temperatures should be between 45°F and 105°F RH 90% or less.
• Enclosed spaces require 100% fresh air supply and 100% exhaust.
• Do not apply near any possible source of ignition such as open flame, pilot lights or electrical equipment that may spark.
• Mix equal parts (1-1 ratio) of NGT Marine Coating with Catalyst in a container. Stir together well. ** DO NOT REDUCE.
• Apply NGT Marine Coating at 2-3 mls WFT per coat. Requires two coats.

APPLICATION ON HULLS & METAL RUNNING GEAR:
Apply a quality marine primer, per manufacturer instructions, on the hull and any other ferrous metal surface. Then apply the NGT Marine Coating over the primer only during the reapplication time period set by the marine primer manufacturer’s guidelines. (if the reapplication timeline has passed, the primer must be mechanically abraded to a minimum of 220 grit sandpaper for NGT Marine Coating to bond). For non-ferrous metal surfaces no primer should be applied.
Apply with HVLP or airless sprayer to achieve the best results for both spread of application and a smooth finish. Using a 1.0 – 1.3 mm type md air pressure set at approximately 25 PSI, apply two coats wet on tack within 10 – 15 minutes of each other (Do not allow first coat to dry more than 15 minutes before applying second coat or second coat will peel off).
You can also roll two coats wet on tack as above using an ultra smooth high density foam roller. Please refer to data sheets and full application instructions at NanoGlobalTech.com. Allow at least 48 hours before launching the vessel.

DRY TIME:
Protect against rain for 5 hours.
Dry to touch: 2-3 hours.
Thorough dry: 3-5 hours.
Full cure: 7 days.

HAZMAT FORMATION:
Coatings Solution UN#1139, Class 3, Packing Group III.
